Robert Pickering
Robert grew up in New York City on the Upper East Side. He moved back to the city, Roosevelt Island, in March 2026 with his girlfriend, Susan, to continue his career in Information Technology and pursue a lifelong ambition for journalism and traveling.
Robert has over 20 years of experience as an Information Technology Manager, working for educational institutions and a major retail distribution center. In each of these positions, Robert has implemented projects that have saved money, improved operational systems, or improved service offerings. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Journalism from Susquehanna University and a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University. While in college, he was a reporter, News Editor, and Editor-in-Chief for the college newspaper, The Crusader. He also worked as a reporter covering local news for the Selinsgrove Times-Tribune, a local weekly newspaper at the time.
For the past year, he has traveled to various parts of the country in a black Sprinter Van named Cinder., while documenting some of those experiences. His current writing focuses on:
